The Freeport Players’ Guild (FPG) has elected a new Board of Directors at its Annual General Meeting held on January 5, 2026, with the incoming team pledging a practical, member-first approach to modernising how the Guild communicates, plans productions, and supports volunteers.

Returning as President is Grand Bahama native and lifetime member Olivia Dorsett, who will lead the Board’s 2026 programme with an emphasis on presence, follow-through, and continuity. Though based in New Providence, Dorsett has committed to being actively engaged with the Guild throughout.

Dorsett and the Board say they have a simple goal for 2026: make volunteering easier and more rewarding, with clear pathways for new members to grow on stage and behind the scenes, from backstage and tech to set design, wardrobe, and props. Plans include more consistent member communication, earlier season planning and upgraded digital systems for rentals and front-of-house operations.

2026 is also a milestone year for the Freeport Players’ Guild, which marks 65 years as Freeport’s oldest civic organisation. Its home, the Regency Theatre, built 55 years ago, continues to serve the community with performances, concerts, and special events. Keeping the theatre active and accessible depends on year-round support.
